In signing the Unlimited Justice* Pledge to end corporal punishment in
American schools, you're offering up your voice -- not your wallet.

Do you represent an organization that would like to join our cause? Click here to contact us.

We Know The Following To Be True...
  • That educators hit more than 220,000 students in 20 19 states,* according to the latest tally by the U.S. Department of Educations Office of Civil Rights.

  • That a prisoner cannot be hit in any state, yet in 20 19 states, a student can be hit in school by an educator.

  • That school corporal punishment is ineffective, reduces academic achievement, and often has lifelong negative effects on students.

  • That school-sanctioned violence is wrong, and America is the only industrialized nation on Earth where this practice is still legal in public schools.

We the people of the United States believe that hitting students in school is an injustice.

We further believe that even the threat of being hit has no place in our public schools — an injustice that millions of American students face everyday.

All Americans are connected to a future dependent upon the quality and equality of our students' education.

And therefore, preparing our children for full participation in the economy and meaningful lives begins with ensuring safe and productive learning environments in which students can achieve their full potential.

BY SIGNING THE UNLIMITED JUSTICE* PLEDGE…

We Pledge to support and seek the enactment of policies and laws that promote respect and learning in the classroom, not fear and intimidation.

We Pledge to support any official, of any political party, who is willing to enact reforms that end corporal punishment in schools.

We Pledge to stand opposed to lawmakers, school boards, and school district administrators who allow children to be paddled, whipped, or beaten by educators in U.S. schools.

We The People, in order to form a more perfect union, make this pledge and invite our fellow citizens to join us in exerting our influence to do the right thing—end corporal punishment in schools.
